I've been in enough internet arguments to know that when mockery is being employed, there's some truth being covered up.

why is it, th at every time someone in a wolf game lays out a grand plan involving forcing others to role claim, they're afraid to put their money where their mouth is.

why can't you just tell us right now?

Why would you want me to out my specific role just yet? I already said there's no benefit to doing it today. You're just reaching because you need to know exactly whether I'm worth the kill tonight.

I mean, that would also happen due to the fact that a person is dead

If we don't know their role/role type, then we can't know where to look next. If we divide the town into role types, we know whether a guaranteed or random role was eliminated, and it can help to inform our decisions.

may be you ARE the fan. maybe you are being so aggressive because you wanna be checked. you'll read as good and let everyone think you're trust worthy.

then you claim an unverifiable role, (I'd choose librarian), and be pretty smooth sailing from there.

meanwhile, getting guaranteed roles to put themselves and be targets for wolf strike instead of you.

hell, potential berseker and you could set up a double kill.

I get where you're coming from, but that wouldn't be a good idea because ritualist and marksman are important roles. As the game develops, these roles will be revealed naturally, and help us home in on the wolves further.

To be clear, I'm NOT suggesting we out those two roles, because that would be stupid. I was saying your plan doesn't work unless they're outed, which we don't want. Yeah they may get revealed by using their ability, or maybe they'll get killed and covered up by the confusion wolf. Which is easier for the wolves to do if we narrow down who has a guaranteed role.

I feel like I'm beating a dead horse at this point.

The plan does work though. It forces baddies to choose whether they are guaranteed or random. As people are eliminated, it helps us decide which category is better to lynch from.

Yes there is the possibility that some guaranteed roles were also chosen from the random pool, but it doesn't matter that much.

Scenario:

• We have 2 aura seers.
• They both claim guaranteed.
• We have 1 wolf claim guaranteed as well.
• (This would mean the random roles would have 4-5 wolves among them, making the randoms a better target for lynching with ~50% odds, but I digress)
• We suddenly have 8 guaranteed roles.
• We (stupidly) lynch from the guaranteed roles, and misfire.
• Turns out we lynched an aura seer!
• OPTION A: The other aura seer could come out and say "hey guys, I'm actually an aura seer too so there's probably only one wolf in this list"
• OPTION B: The other aura seer says nothing because they think it would look suspicious and make them a target
• Another target is killed at night from the guaranteed list!
• This PROVES that that player was a guaranteed role
• We're down to 6 guaranteed roles still living, among which could be one or two wolves, which STILL makes the random roles better for lynching

This also stops wolves from killing everyone on the guaranteed list, because if they do, they expose their wolf members who claimed guaranteed. They have to split their kills between guarantees and randoms.

And if more info comes out (role claims, etc.) it helps to narrow the list down further.

Best way to hide their kills and claim a role that no longer exists and start feeding fake information.

So historically we've seen that in Wolf games, the more information that is publicly available, the better it is for the town.

Kelly puts forth a plan that would present lots of information for the town to use. This is immediately met by pushback by people who don't provide anything of value of their own, just a lot of reasons why we  shouldn't provide information to the town.

Could also be the wolves/sorcerer saying I'm good because they know I'm not a wolfie, but that would be a gamble if I were neutral.

I'm pretty confident that even if we lose our aura seer tonight we're not in a bad position as long as townies keep claiming and wolves keep delaying/complaining.

Also if I were a wolf, I would be discouraging people from these soft claims and either encouraging strong claims or no claims so that I can benefit from the confusion wolf + lack of town info... which is exactly what the wolves are doing.
