Not what I mean, but I'll take it lolYou are a friend to all, correct.
Hey that's my friend you're talking about!
Why didn't you pick a better friend? Like maybe Jawneh.Hey that's my friend you're talking about!
So I see none of you cowards are gonna try the cryptic
I recommend it. The rules aren't really all that complicated.Tbh, I'd like to do more cryptics, but I don't want to spend the time learning and internalizing the rules. They do seem fun otherwise.
I tried it a couple days ago when you posted about it. The answer did make sense afterwards for sure. It could be more that maybe I'm not that into verbal puzzles.Like cryptics will seem like nonsensical alchemy but when you know how they work, you can pretty much always see where the answers came from.
I found it pretty easy.Pips #7 Hard

Puzzle #805
@canadaguy was today's especially easy for this? It was the first thing I thought of but then I took a clue to be sure and then felt dumb for not just guessing it
Minute Cryptic - 24 August, 2025
"Got a freshly-made Caesar wrap?" (4)

I scored: 1 under par
Another 4 letter one today, but I'm happy I got it without needing to verify with a hint first:I found it pretty easy.
A four letter answer narrows down what you can use for the wordplay, so then you kind of have a choice of what might be the indicator, and one is pretty easy to eliminate then
It took me a sec, since I was a bit surprised that it was so much clue for such a small answer. But then it came together fairly easy.Another 4 letter one today, but I'm happy I got it without needing to verify with a hint first:

"Forger's initial on map - it shows treasure spot! Buried gold is fake..." (4)
I scored: 2 under par
I've always been weary to take them on because I first saw them while watching Cracking the Cryptic on YouTube. A one off like this is much more manageable. It took me a sec, since I was a bit surprised that it was so much clue for such a small answer. But then it came together fairly easy.
It's nice to have someone to at least talk about these a bit. My mom taught me cryptics, but these are baby level easy for her, so she doesn't do them.
Man, if there was a synonym for club that anagramed to Eric/k, this would be a great clueCryptic Eric/k Club
You kind of learn over time.Iβm still not sure how you know which words are indicators or any of the other things
Could try to do something for Leif Erikson if you decide to pronounce his name as "leaf" or maybe even erik the red. Embarrassed Viking's Bat or some shit.Man, if there was a synonym for club that anagramed to Eric/k, this would be a great clue
I love cracking the cryptic. I went through a phase a few years back where it was like the only thing I watched on yt. They definitely helped me up my Sudoku game for sure. Simon is always a joy to watch. I go in and out of watching them solve puzzles, and I'm sure I'll be back to watching some when I'm struggling to sleep after the baby comes.I love cracking the cryptic. Im not a big sudoku guy, but I enjoy watching him solve cryptics. Especially when he finds a clue to be especially clever, just the joy he finds is so nice. They definitely helped me up my Sudoku game for sure. Simon is always a joy to watch. edit: also Sheryl noticed me watching them at one point, and the next time we visited her parents she mentioned that I like sudoku to her mom, who does the newspaper one every morning. Her mom was stuck on one and said "if you finish this, you can marry her" (this was while we were engaged) - thanks to some of the tricks I learned from the channel I managed to get it done. We now have that puzzle framed somewhere in the house.
