Resolved Thread Drafts

I had a long thread draft typed up, but wasn't ready to post it because I wasn't finished. I'm pretty sure I clicked "Save Draft" but I can't locate it. I only have "Save Draft" and "Delete Draft" under the save icon.

Where do drafts go? Is there a time limit as to how long I can have a draft saved?

Good question...

I'm not certain off hand. I don't think there is any list of saved drafts.

I think they're just saved in the thread editor... So if you did save the draft and go back to the same forum/thread, it'll be there in the editor.

For posting a thread I'd think go back to create a thread in that same forum, and hopefully it'll load. If it was a post in a thread, loading that thread should bring the draft into the editor.

I tried that, it wasn't there unfortunately. I'm guessing I'm going to have to restart it.

it would appear the device is irrelevant. I started another draft on one laptop a little bit ago. I just start up my other laptop and that draft is still there. I only ever use Firefox so all my stuff carries over.

Strange that it didn't save, then. I'm sorry that it didn't, it's usually quite good about that.

As of right now, the setting is at 24 hours.



I can’t imagine that it would be too intensive to bump that up a little higher. What do y’all think would be reasonable?

Yeah, we can bump that up pretty easily.

Also, for those not entirely sure when they’re going to post something… the personal notepad feature doesn’t have a time limit as far as I can tell. I still have update threads from over a year ago on mine.

Yeah, so long as they're saved they'll stay until you delete them.

Be careful with drafts and switching devices or tabs. If you have a blank post open, it can overwrite your draft. Personally I go to the code view and copy that to somewhere like Notepad so I don't lose it.
