I hadn't paid much attention to this, but a trailer just dropped and of course I'm stoked for dinosaurs.

I also enjoy the clearly pointed "this ain't no walk in the park" tagline.

I always think of these 2 dinosaur movies

I mean, this was basically the best we had when born. From 1987 through 1993, the janky stop-motion dinosaurs with their upright posture and tails reading dragging on the ground was standard.

And I do recall thinking it cool how they composited real people over the stop-motion and gave it a sense of scale.

But then 1993 rolled around and my 6 year old brain was blessed with the CGI/animatronic glory of Jurassic Park, which sealed my fate as a dino nerd.

I'm down with them finally leaning towards feathered therapods and not-shrink-wrapped dinos, in general, though. Dino movies show a good general progression of scientific understanding.

I had the fortune of seeing one of the Jurassic Park animatronic Triceratopses when we went to Universal Studios in Florida when I was 14-15-ish. So fucking cool, and damn realistic looking up close! They had a dude acting.the part of a dino vet taking care of the sick dino. It was breathing and moving a little and everything.

Apparently this has a 5 day release in the US and Australia right now, but... Fuck going to see it in the cinema. I just learned 2 of the actors are Anthony Ingruber and Jeremy Piven who have both been accused of sexual misconduct, and I don't much care to support all that.

No matter how interesting it looks, I'll wait until streaming and/or I find it upon the high-seas.
