[Quagmire]

Anyone played this?

I tried playing it, but I gave up half way in. Music is fantastic, good art style, I liked the charm of the world and characters, but it moves so slow both game play and story wise (and its only probably about a 20hr game).

I was really interested in the darker themes, but from what I've read they dont really hit until the end of the game, dont want to keep slogging through, which is a shame

I played it and found it pretty compelling actually. I kind of couldn't put it down til I was done. I thought the darker themes were pretty heavy even from the beginning and there's this whole blanket of depression that covers the whole game in multiple aspects. The dialogue has subtle nuances that hint at trauma, the character portraits were expressive and conveyed a lot of emotion, and the music I thought was also very fitting and very deceptively emo.

Game definitely goes full on at the end though for sure.

There were some hints and some small things but I was just expecting more early on like a better idea of what was going on and, I just found everything moving too slowly, it probably doesn't help that my last game I played was like a dragon infinite wealth which has fantastic turn-based combat
