I feel like you got really excited and forgot what thread you needed to shout your excitement in.Leafs win again! 4-3 the final score.![]()
Yes, it's a huge win for the Leafs after all the adversity we've had to overcome over the years.I feel like you got really excited and forgot what thread you needed to shout your excitement in.
Easy.Marner on the breakaway, gets tripped, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand the Leafs get called for holding the stick. Now tell me how that makes any sense.![]()
Toronto getting penalized quite a bit here.
First time? No son, we've been to this dance before.
I meant specifically with the panthers in the playoffs, but… you’re a Toronto fan. Pain is in your blood with that team.First time? No son, we've been to this dance before.
Doesn't help the Leafs are getting hemmed in by the Panthers the entire game. The Panthers by far are the better team tonight and it shows.I meant specifically with the panthers in the playoffs, but… you’re a Toronto fan. Pain is in your blood with that team.
At least they didn’t get screwed out of the number 5 pick by the islanders and mammoth at the draft lottery.
Wonder if they know their team only has 5 Americans on it.Panthers fans chanting USA, lol.
George Parros spent most of his career with the Ducks and was only with the Panthers for less than half a season. However, the current assistant GM of the Panthers has some stroke. He's the son of the director of Hockey Operations, Colin Campbell.at least it wasn’t a suspension, still stupid though and it’s not bettman making the decision it’s the department of player safety. who’s the head of that again? oh yeah a former goon who also just happened to be a Florida Panther
If you don’t think Bettman has a say in discipline I don’t know what to say lolat least it wasn’t a suspension, still stupid though and it’s not bettman making the decision it’s the department of player safety. who’s the head of that again? oh yeah a former goon who also just happened to be a Florida Panther
I mean, there have been numerous cases where Bettman has given his statements when players have been disciplined, so yeah, he definitely has a say.If you don’t think Bettman has a say in discipline I don’t know what to say lol
The Leafs have been giving it to the Panthers just as much shit they've taken from them. Can you really blame them? No, not if the NHL isn't going to do squat about the Panthers gooning it up. It comes to a point where you have no choice but to take matters into your own hands. Stolarz was taken out by Bennett, Tanev is being specifically targeted because of his injury history (in one game, he took a shot in the back of the neck), and you have the Panthers playing a dirty game overall. You can't expect the opposition to take that without any response back. The thing is, stuff like that Domi hit happen specifically because the NHL refuses to do anything about the dirty shit the Panthers do.
Watching Domis hit back a million times, it was not clean but also wasn’t as bad as everyone is making it out to be. It was deliberate and dangerous but he used his shoulder and more pushed, not a full speed check.
But if the NHL punished the Panthers at an equivalent rate, players wouldn’t feel compelled to take matters into their own hands. And what about Tkachuck saying to Nylander “I’m going after you next game” huh? Doing nothing about a threat because it’s the Panthers? If Tkachuck lays a finger on Nylander, he should be suspended for the playoffs. But he won’t. And then you have the audacity to punish Domi?
It’s like kicking a dog and the owner being fined for the dog bruising the attacker’s foot.
This was exactly my point, yes. At some point you're going to have teams saying "well if they're just going to get away with it..." and they are going to bring in random goons with no hockey skill to legit target and "eliminate" other teams star players. Those players will be sacrificial lambs meant to be fined and suspended with impunity because teams like the Panthers never get in trouble. The Leafs have been giving it to the Panthers just as much shit they've taken from them. Eventually, something's got to give. If the NHL keeps going down this path, you're going to see more Matt Cooke types around the league. Players will be more inclined to take liberties with the rules if the league isn't going to enforce them properly.
