Tonight's game screams of the same movie we've been seeing before with this team. Non-functional PP, sporadic d-zone coverage, and a largely ineffective bottom six. First period aside, this was not a good showing from the buds.

Team really needs to get their shit figured out with the bottom six, because it's just not working. It's essentially composed of a bunch of spare parts thrown together. Treliving & Co. need to figure out what it is they want, whether that may be a depth scoring line, a checking line, a shut-down low-event line.....whatever. They need to find the right pieces, all the while moving out the players not needed.

And for the love of Pete, they gotta stop dressing Ryan Reaves. He provides nothing from an offensive perspective, he doesn't throw any useful hits, and his presence on the ice hurts the team whenever he's out there. It's clear that Berube doesn't trust him either, as evident with his ice time cut down to 5-6 minutes a game, so why is he still being dressed? Ah yes, that's right, to deter players fro......welp, never mind. He doesn't do that either. If he can't even do what he was specifically paid to do, then there's no need for him to be clogging up a roster spot in favor of someone who's earned their keep. The fact that a guy like Robertson finds himself in this kind of position is quite frankly, disgraceful, and it's no wonder why he feels a change of scenery is needed. I can only imagine how frustrating it is for him having to work his ass off just to get featured in the lineup, and then being scratched for a zero-calorie player.

Oh absolutely, Samuelsson was insanely dirty, but Hatcher was probably the best of the heart and soul captains.

Nice to see Alex Steeves getting a call-up to the Leafs roster. Unfortunately, that means Robertson will be sitting on the sidelines again just so Reaves can get his 5 minutes of cardio in.

He's 100% being traded. Guy cannot even pass Reaves on the depth chart. Shame, because he's talented enough to be a mainstay in the lineup, but management doesn't seem to be high on him due to his size.

I don't know what they saw in him. The PP has been garbage his whole tenure, he's gotten absolutely nothing out of the talent on that team, and if it weren't for the goaltending, the B's would have been trash for the last 3 years.

They are wasting the primes of McAvoy and Pastrnak without bringing in true talent. Swayman and Bergeron are clearly why Monty had his job.
