Only because I'm not yet convinced TD is Tough Guy. Why would he try so hard to conceal his role if he was going to die by the end of today anyway?

It doesn't seem worth lynching TD today. He will expose himself (giggity) if he isn't the Tough Guy.

But this is a valid point and a logical argument. If TD doesn't die today, then any killing roles we have in the town should kill him tonight.

This is the closest thing to TD explicitly claiming Tough Guy, and yet he wouldn't be that vague about it when I keep pushing him to be specific.

Isn't that the opposite of claiming it? He's not claiming his role and agrees there's no reason to hide a tough guy role.

@TD are you claiming tough guy? Is your suspicion of Local even a role based thing or just a read thing? I agree he's being suspicious, he was so much more aggressive in the Mafia game than he's being here. However, as you saw in the dead thread, I'm always suspicious of Local and am ALWAYS wrong... So I'm wanting to join in on this bandwagon but don't want to feel like a fool yet again.

I gave some more thought to Kelly's plan and kinda see some sense in it, although I think he's still ignoring some obvious risks. It's true that the town seems to win when everybody starts role claiming, but I also kinda hate role claiming on general principle (it makes the game boring IMO).

I have more to say on that, but my cats are late to being fed and complaining, and it's slow to type on my phone, so I'll follow up in a bit.

I'm not sure what would happen if he was tough guy and also protected me. That seems crazy unlikely, but I guess it's possible.

I clarified this in another game, but if you protect someone that protects themselves, you get credit for a protection and they do not.

If you and another role both protect someone, the person credited goes by night order.

If you and another role protect someone else and you are the SAME ROLE, you both get credited with a protection (witches would both lose a potion, tough guys would both die).

They both do. It used to specify specifically that in the description, but people got confused by what "protecting yourself" means. So now the description just says they don't die if attacked.

Kat said she was protected but didn't actively protect herself. I was thinking Red Lady is the only role that doesn't actively protect themselves but will be protected if they are visiting someone. But if it's between bodyguard and tough guy, she would either be injured right now, or would have information on a lowest ranking wolf. Seeing as she did not bring any accusations up, I would assume at this point that bodyguard is more likely.

There's only one role I can see (other than another aura seer) that would allow TD to know someone is a wolf for sure, but it would require a bit more information than just that.

There's a possibility he or one of the two people who claimed aura seer already are actually the sorcerer. In fact I would expect one of the people who knows auras and publicly states them to be the sorcerer.

All right everyone. Given that you all thought TD was hinting at tough guy and he definitely didn't protect anyone last night, do we believe him to be evil? It seems like a dumb role to false claim though, right? Maybe he's just like me and doesn't like to state his role outright. I still feel like his post agreeing that there's no reason to hide the tough guy role was the opposite of a role claim. I think it's safe to say he's not a wolf: even without Tommy Boy vouching for his aura, the wolves know they attacked somebody and it failed, so they would also know their claim to have protected someone would get refuted.

Sorcerer is technically possible, although I would expect sorcerer to give good info to cover themselves or claim a wolf is actually good, not claim a townie is evil. Maybe he could talk himself out of it by claiming it was just a bad read, but then it's tough to claim seer at all. IMO TD is a better player than this.

Wolf fan is a possibility, but with no kills last night, there's only three possible explanations, which I believe TD would easily figure out:
Someone was protected (in which case a claim to be protecting someone will be risky, since the town will refute)
Wolf fan was turned (which TD would know wasn't the case if he were wolf fan and trying to get turned)
Wolves attacked nobody (this is the only case where this ploy would possibly work out, but it's such a long shot that I doubt TD would bet on it).

So I'm leaning towards TD being legit, and either he has some kind of seer role or finds Local very suspicious. His reads in the Mafia game were quite good, so even if it's the latter, I'm inclined to go with it.

I vote Local unless/until somebody gives a good reason to disagree.
