Saw @The Eye in the Sky!'s post over in the Driving Customs thread and immediately thought of this....

Yeah pretty much. I can never get used to grid set ups because of here. It's too structured and boring. I want to drive on a road that might turn into a one way half way down.
The outer boroughs aren’t as grid like but still better than that.

The big problem is all the roundabouts in New England

That’s pretty much how it is here.

Downtown is kinda organized:

But as soon as you zoom out just a little:

The big problem is all the roundabouts in New England

They’re BAD in DC, and working their way north into the metro area here. Most people do not understand them. At all. In any capacity.

I don't understand why they picked the area they did for the shot. I feel like that's in Roxbury or something. Downtown Boston isn't much better. Though if you do that one you might schedule pick up the seaport and see an accidental grid.

Also rotaries are fine if people from it of town aren't driving through them.

With two rivers (the French Broad & Swannanowa) and Piney Mountain buttressing Asheville, space ain't plentiful, plus when they were deciding on the path I-40 would take, the geniuses in Raleigh wanted to put 40 through downtown Asheville just to give the city a nice big fat 'fuck you' (Western NC's always been getting screwed by the plantation class down east).

They settled for just running the part of I-40 that runs into Tennessee through the worst, most rockslide-dropping section instead.

I used to live on a street that had four different names within two miles, and it didn't turn or cross city lines or anything.
I worked on a street exactly like this for over a decade. It's pretty normal around here, to the point where I was a little taken aback by the fact that it's unusual.
