He asked if one of us can post this for him here. As you can all understand, he's got a lot on his plate right now after the worst possible thing and wasn't up for coming here and letting you know himself.

Hugo Chen Paradis was born on August 31, 2025. Due to unexpected sudden complications during delivery, he passed away peacefully in Sheryl's arms with Eric by their sides in the early morning of September 1. Sheryl is healthy and recovering. We kindly ask for everyone to respect our privacy as we mourn this heartbreaking loss. While we may not be able to respond to every message, we appreciate your love and support during this devastating time.

Oh Eric, that is devastating. Beyond words. I'm so sorry. Labor and delivery is so fraught with things that can happen, even in today's world and with today's medicine. It's a constant worry when you're expecting. I will keep your family in my thoughts.

Words aren't really going to be able to express how sorry we all are for your loss, but it's immense. No one should have to deal with the loss of a child, least of all a family who fought hard for the beginning in the first place.

We'll be here to help however we can, even if that's just being understanding of any absence you need to take.
